Chuck "Lefty" Nowak

Chuck "Lefty" Nowak (b. March 5 1946--d. June 7, 2004) was just trying to get through his last day of construction work at Winter Park High School before retiring. It turned out to be his last day ever. There was an exposed wire in the area where Chuck was working. The shock was not enough to kill him but the fall was. The shock took Chuck down, like a tazer would, and over the edge of the roof. Chuck landed to the left of the main entrance. The story of Chuck is still alive throughout the school. It is told to the freshman by the upperclassmen to scare the new kids. Some believe that Chuck never left Winter Park High School and that he still walks around the roof, watching over the entrance of the high school.
