Kissy Boots
From Omnictionary
Origins
The band Kissy Boots (formed in 1989 by Alfonse "Gargoyle" von Bray) is one of the most popular underground power-punk/electronica bands in the United States. The band began in 1989 in humble Winter Park, Florida, when Alfonse von Bray and his best friend at the time, Lee "Lipstick" Comstock, began jamming in Lee's basement. Soon after, they were picked up by WinterPark Records, and recorded their first album, "My Tongue Tingles for You".
The Lipstick Fallout
Not long after their first European tour in 1991, von Bray married his long-time girlfriend, Mimi Vernon, who occasionally played keyboards for the band. Reportedly, there was an argument between von Bray and Comstock about Vernon's influence on the band, which resulted in Comstock calling her "Yoko", and von Bray kicking him out of the band. Vernon joined as a full time member.
Present Day
The band is now composed of three members: Alfonse "Gargoyle" von Bray, Mimi Vernon, and Stephani Das. Their manager is Brett Bretterson.
