Leet, also known as 1337, 31337, and Leetspeak was originally created by hackers to avoid mainstream web searches. It has so many variants that no one could possibly block them all. It normally involves replacing letters with numbers and symbols. Leetspeak is now used by hardcore gamers, in chatrooms, and by posers. It is used in the following way: "Hello everybody. I am a hacker. Good day to you." becomes "H3ll0 3v3ryb0dy. 1 4m 4 h4ck3r. G00d d4y t0 y0u." This is basic Leet. Intermediate Leet would be like "H3££0 3v3r¥b0Ð¥. 1 4m 4 h4(|{3r. 900Ð Ð4¥ 70 ¥0µ." and Advanced Leet (which is hard to do without a modded ketboard) is like "|-|3££0 3\/3®¥ß0Ð¥. 1 4|\/| 4 |-|4(|{3®. 900Ð Ð4¥ 70 ¥0µ." Advanced Leet is kind of hard to read sometimes. Words are commonly misspelled and in the wrong order. Such as the word "the" becoming "teh"
