Mary Harrison

Mary Susanne Harrison was born to July Rolard and John Harrison om April 13, 1925. She and her three sisters Megan, Melissa, and Morgan, grew up on the family vineyard in Abingdon, Virginia. As a child she dreamt of becoming a professional book binder, but she gave this up to marry the aspiring enologist Harry P. Wright in 1947. She imparted her love of books to her son, William S. Wright, who later became famous for his controversial novels Under the Striped Gazebo and Tolerance for Temporality. Not much is known of her later life except that she died in a tragic car accident in 1997.
