Just start talking here: like msn or aol!

Minababy11: this is a pretty awsome site! does anyone know where we should shape the book next?

Minimonsta (2000):Can i just start writing on the Wiki-Novel? coz im kinda scared of being told off!

Chris Ravencroft: I got an idea on the way I want to make the plot go but don't want to ruin it!

I think the ides idea is to Be Bold. Matthew Dryden 01:03, 4 June 2008 (EDT)
YES! the idea behind this (as far as I can gather) is to create a collaborative novel. Basically, read what has already been written and then either continue from there or edit what's already been written as you see fit. Don't worry about making permanent changes, there is a record of what the page looked like before you started so you wont be destroying another writers work. have fun and be bold! This is always a hard thing to do. I don't think I'll jump in right yet. I'm not as strong writing from the third-person perspective as I am from the first. There's just so must to do on the wiki, and I'm enjoying the story as it goes now. Perhaps later on I'll jump in and have some fun. Matthew Dryden 23:37, 5 June 2008 (EDT)

Question: Who is Sam? Who is this Sam dude, by the way? He doesn't seem to have a page yet. Fafnir 02:43, 7 June 2008 (EDT)

Answer: Apparently Sam is actually a nickname. Samuel appears to be the main character in our story–at least for the time being. Matthew Dryden 06:12, 7 June 2008 (EDT)

--Markberry555 02:34, 8 June 2008 (EDT)Changes to Wiki-novel page... Hey guys, I moved the parts about Katherine and Mr. Lindsey to the "Katherine" page, where it seemed to fit better. Tonight, I tried to smooth out the front page story a little better, so it had coherence. Mostly, I didn't want loose ends, like Old Man Sam just roaming aimlessly in the halls of the Movie Center.

I also tried to pull the story parts together, so it was easier to read. Now all the Missing Margo parts are together, and all the Sam parts are together.

I still don't know how to smooth out the transition to Allison and Merilee into the story yet. It looks freakin great. Big Thanks for whoever wrote the Margo parts. It's great!

-- Ludvig: I read the story about Katherine and this girl Amanda Jenkins, and I thought it was fitting good in the original story. A lot of books tells the story from 2 or more people's angles, and tight them together after a while. Besides, I don't think that the persons who wrote the two chapters are so happy about it.

I agree with the person above me. I kinda assumed that we were writing the story from several different points of view and that we would switch POVs between chapters. Saying that, i think we might want to switch around the chapters a little, instead of having several chapters in a row from one point of view like we do now? I don't know if people want to write the novel that way or not, though. Fafnir 17:20, 8 June 2008 (EDT)

Yah, well I was bold...i suppose, i dunno, i just kinda wrote it. But if you guys wanna change it or something, thats fine. (It was chapter 7 by the way) Do with it what you like. :)

Can someone please explain to me how to make a link when writing and how exactly to make a page? -amy

Wiki-Novel

Hey, i haven't had much experience editing wikis, but i found this extreamly useful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Cheatsheet Also, if everybody could sign their comments on talk pages with four of ~ <------ those, it'd be really helpful. It automatically posts your user name and the date/time you posted. The other thing is, i think we might want to talk about a suggested limit to how much/how often a user can add to the wiki-novel, so that the wiki-novel isn't dominated by one or a few users. Comments? Fafnir 21:43, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

I haven't had the time to devote to this wiki, due to some other time drains, but I believe that limiting a user's contributions to the Wiki-Novel is not necessarily the best thing, especially at this point. There isn't a big enough user base to really warrant this policy, and the Wiki-Novel is really only edited by a few folks at this time. I love those cheat sheets. I've been meaning to add one here so people know how to do some of the stuff, but like I said before...other time drains have been taking over. Matthew Dryden 23:17, 18 June 2008 (EDT)
