About

I'm only just one person, but I've had a bit of experience working in and setting up MediaWiki's that focused on a subjects ranging from a game to people. I'm a firm believer in guidelines and policies. Not to make things harder and restrict, but to make it easier to know who is talking on Talk pages (tip: Sign all your posts on talk pages with this: ~~~~, this will make you name appear with a link to your userpage and your talk page, as well as a timestamp).

You could say I love the whole wiki concept. I love everything about it. My goal with Omnictionary is to organize and neaten things up. I'm sure this'll catch on soon enough. It's just a matter of time. Anyways, that's enough editing of my userpage for now. It's time to get started.

Categories

Whoa...lots of clean-up here...I spent one night just adding categories to pages. Categories is the better way to make lists of pages in a wiki. It's allows for less manual labour and additional to multiple lists if needed. To add a category to a page, do this: [[Category:Name of category]]. I know you must be saying, "But isn't that how I make a link?", Yes, and no. Category: makes it a category link, which will automatically add a link to the bottom of the page. Much easier.

Now that I've completely taken over recent changes and probably have made a few people go, "Huh?", I think it's time to go. I'll be back. I tried not to be notsome...I hope I succeeded...

User notes

  • This user patrols Recent changes way to much. Seriously, it's disturbing.
  • This user has filled the whole Recent changes page twice (50+ edits within a very short timespan).
  • This user hopes for a better Omnictionary for all.
  • This user is firmly against copy/pasting Wikipedia articles here for these reasons:
    1. Wikipedia's copyright is not compatible with Omnictionary's copyright.
    2. There are better ways to get links to these articles.
    3. It wreaks havoc on the Wanted pages and categories.
    4. It uses templates that are not included in Omnictionary.
